The Olivia White Hospice Home offers compassionate around-the-clock assisted living for the terminally ill. The first of its kind in northern Arizona, it is located in the beautiful Switzer Canyon and offers patients and family a peaceful and serene setting.


Patient celebrates 92nd birthday

The Olivia White Hospice Home is a haven for those who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness but lack adequate care giving resources in their own home. The house consists of 10 private bedrooms that combine comfortable furnishings with functional use. There is a fully-equipped kitchen for individual meals with an adjacent living room and private dining area. We’ve also kept in mind some private and quiet space for residents and families to gather.

Amenities include:

~ The upright piano in the living area
~ The handsome grandfather clock with its soothing sounds
~ The beautiful artwork of local artists which grace the walls
~ The cozy fireplace
~ The Lowry organ in the great room
~ An array of plants to complement the setting
~ The entertainment center with TV and VCR
~ The library complete with books, magazines, and computer
with email capabilities for residents

The Olivia White Hospice Home Garden is an ongoing project that includes a memorial garden and a memorial gazebo. Anyone from the community can contribute to this special project by having a tree, shrub, flower bed, or rose bush planted in memory of a loved one or by purchasing a memorial brick for the gazebo in memory of a loved one. Those who dwell within the Home may expect their physical needs to be met by our experienced staff and offered companionship along the journey from caring volunteers perhaps by:
     ~ Going for a walk
     ~ Enjoying the enclosed patio
     ~ Playing cards
     ~ Reading or enjoying music

Our mission is to provide compassionate care, comfort and bereavement support during the changing phases of incurable disease so that individuals and their families may live each day to the fullest.

When is the Olivia White
Hospice Home an option?

~ Individuals who have received a diagnosis of terminal illness with limited life
expectancy and are under the care of a primary physician.

~ Priority will be given to those who lack adequate care giving resources in their
own home.

Room and board are provided on a sliding scale. Although room and board are not covered under the Medicare Hospice Benefit or private insurance, some long-term care policies may provide coverage.

This wonderful resource would not be possible without the caring spirit of the community and the generosity of individuals from both in and outside of the City of Flagstaff.
